Do you every get to the point where you can't just seem to get something to work? I am working on a piece of work at the moment, and this is probably 5th or 6th attempt at trying something different in relation to the introduction. I am pretty pleased with 95% of the piece, but I can't make the intro work, and I am floundering...why? Because the introduction to a piece, film, whatever is the most important thing isn't it? It is (if Malcolm Gladwell is to be believed in Blink) that first instantaneous impression that forms our opinion on something (or someone!), and as such it really has to cut the mustard. So what do you do when you just can't make it work or when the creative magic just isn't there?
