After my post about the demise of HMV on the high street and how I hope that it might make music cool again. The Guardian have published this article highlighting 10 of the best independent record shops in the UK, it really does make interesting reading. These shops go seem to be making music cool again, a special treat, something to explore and look forward to spending your hard earned cash (and time on!). I am a bit surprised that SisterRay in Soho and the Vinyl Exchange in Manchester didn't get a mention, but perhaps that is just because I am bias, they are particular favourites of mine...and places I have spent far to much time (and money)! I should add to their list a little shop I recently discovered in the back streets (!!) of Withington, Manchester, called Deco, it's a fantastic little shop and well worth a visit. I guess things are coming full circle, the giants are falling and the little guys are becoming kings again!PeaceNeil
