I have decided to remove the image and title from this post as it seems that the image of some software has caused some public out rage on a public forum accusing me of all kinds of things which couldn't be further from my intention. I have left my original text and you can read that below if you are still interested. I just blogged a piece about some new software which I thought looked particularly impressive when compared to the other DAW's on the market. I grabbed a low res screen grab from my a presentation image which was first grabbed from my home system (running the first version of the software) in a rush simply to put a picture on the post. I guess the moral to this episode is more speed less haste.

I had no idea what that picture would lead to such insults in my direction. As such it is only appropriate that I remove the post. I am just someone working in the industry who decided to write a positive piece on a press release about what looks to be a fantastic upgrade to a piece of software, I am rather surprised that was a nondescript image which led to such fervour. I guess I should appreciate that those looking for news of new software are keen to latch onto whatever the web has to offer. As such I know I would be checking out anything related to a certain piece of software from a fruit related company, but I am not sure I would cast aspersions on someones lame image if that was what it I thought it was, life is too short.

For those of you who thought this was a ploy to bring you to my site, well I am deeply sorry to have wasted your time, this was never my intention, and hey if you ever visit Manchester, drop me a line and I will buy you a beer....we could even talk about the software in question, as I would love to know your take on it. For those unable to take me up on said offer, then I wish you well and perhaps I maybe be able to help you out with something audio tech related in the future.

For my regular readers, I really still think that the software in question is well worth a look, especially considering the state of another very well known app. It is the logical thing to do....

*****If the person who started the forum post could delete the link to my site, that would be a good thing to do as the accusations of driving traffic to my site could be removed..thanks!*****PeaceNeilPs the beer offer is genuine! (just one pint mind!)Below is the original text onlyAnother Day, another big update release. It seems the new contender to the throne Presonus's Studio One has released a free upgrade to their version 2 being version 2.5. This video highlights some new features, and I have to say it all looks rather impressive. I have had a play with studio one, and I really like the cleanness of the interface and how the workflow is simplified and concise. I still feel that (for me) it isn't fully finished and is a work in progress, but it does seems to be the DAW 2.0, that is the second league of DAW's coming out built from the ground up with all the acquired knowledge from 10-15 years of previous development. These new Daw's also have the benefit of not being pumped full of legacy code, and as such are more streamlined...perhaps this is what Apple are doing with Logic X? Perhaps! It is slightly disconcerting that all these other companies (without the epic financial resources of Apple) are constantly upgrading and updating their products...and yet nothing from Apple about a Logic X release. Hmmm.
