Wampler Dual Fusion in action
Bit of a late update here, but I was fortunate to attended, an Evening with Tom Quayle at the fantastic Toneworld in Manchester on Wednesday. It was a fantastic evening, with some totally phenomenal playing by Tom. It was a great format for an evening (for the guitar geeks amongst us!), with some demos from Tom, and him talking through all his gear and then time at the end to have a look, play, have a chat with Tom, all very informal and a great atmosphere, in what can only be described as Guitar Heaven!Worst thing was, it created a serious bout of GAS (or gear acquisition syndrome). Personally, whilst the Fibanace guitars that Tom uses look stunning, and sounded amazing too, I am not sure that they would be for me (thankfully given the price tag!), I am pretty happy with my guitar lot in life (Ibanez), perhaps a nice Godin electroacoustic one day. But was blown away by the Wampler Dual Fusion pedal, not only did it sound amazing, the real selling point as I saw it is the ability to stack the overdrives and re-arrange the order, and with one pedal, have a crunch tone, distorted tone and then a lead tone. The pedal sounds really open, especially on the 'Euphoria' side. It was great to get some time up close and personal with the pedal!! I'll have to see what Father Christmas can do!The other big, big surprise of the evening was the DV Mark Multiamp. This thing could be big (but not in a weight kind of way!) At half the price of an Axe FX and with a built in amp (!!!!) and not weighting in at 4.3kg (!!!), this will be epic I think. It sounded amazing, and Tom was playing through it all evening (with pedals in front) and it really did respond amazingly well. I am keeping my eye very much on this one!!!PeaceNeil
