Boss DA-2 Adaptive Distortion thoughts

So one of the first things of interest to roll out of Namm 2013 is a pedal by Boss. I mean there probably isn't as single guitarist on the planet whom hasn't owned or at least played at some point a Boss pedal. They are pretty cool beasts, and they last a lifetime, I have had my Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 since 1988 and it is still going strong, as is my TU-12 Tuner. So it is always interesting when they come out with new pedals. To be honest I am not fussed about some of the COSM in a box pedals or the PowerStack style ones. But this one looks very interesting (especially the term 'perfect distortion'). I currently run 3-4 different distortions/overdrives to cover a whole range to tones, but if this pedal can do what it says it can to, it could be very interesting....time will tell! I wonder what will be next! Come on TC Electronic....blow our minds!!Some info on the DA-2

Compact distortion pedal that adapts to how – and where – you playWith standard distortion pedals, the entire signal gets processed with one effect, which can result in a muffled, indistinct sound. The Boss DA-2 compact pedal gives you perfect distortion tones across the entire range of your guitar with unrivaled clarity, using a new technology called Multi-Dimensional Processing.• Distortion that adapts to create the ideal sound in every register• Next-generation BOSS compact pedal with innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing, using proprietary technology and custom DSP• Highly responsive to volume changes and playing dynamics• High-clarity sound, even when playing two or more notes at the same time• Very low noise, even with high-gain settings• Intuitive operation similar to standard distortion pedalsIdeal distortion across your guitar's entire rangeSince standard distortion pedals process the entire guitar signal with one effect, the resulting sound can sometimes lack clarity. The DA-2 uses multiple distortion processors to seamlessly adapt the sound in real time, creating the ideal tone for every register. As a result, the DA-2 delivers a rich, musical distortion that plays well all over the neck, from tight, edgy low-string tones to fat, smooth highs for lead playing. With the power of MDP, the DA-2's distortion responds dramatically to your playing dynamics, and every note is heard with clarity and definition.Multi-Dimensional Processing for superior toneThe MDP technology in the DA-2 works by analysing audio signals using a variety of factors (or dimensions) and then applying different effect levels to each stage. The end result is a bold, new sound with a previously unattainable range of expression and dynamic response. [1]
